Because of the internet, many people no longer have to leave home or take public transportation to and from work; they can perform their job duties from home. This time should be a watershed time for the disabled and handicapped to work and contribute to society. As the father of a girl who is permanently confined to a wheelchair, it has been a sort of mission of mine over all these years to do so. As a small company, we want to help them to do so.
We are in the process of hiring physically impaired folks for our company. At first, just a few folks, they earn decent money editing video. At this very moment, we are looking for someone disabled but has experience editing video using Final Cut. They need to have experience with Final Cut software and be able to observe video footage and listen to music and make edits. Native Japanese ability a must. Experience in video and art and design a plus.
We prefer folks who live in Tokyo or Yokohama, Chiba area. For now, we are merely looking for one experienced person; yes, the hurdle is high. But soon we will be hiring people who have little or no experience and we aim to train them and give them a profitable skill. I will announce that job opening soon. (A Japanese language version of this article will be posted tomorrow).
We are now looking to hire a physically impaired person who can perform a part time job doing video editing on Final Cut at home. As with all video editing jobs, this job has no set work hour schedule. The editor can do the work at their convenience. It takes about 3 – 5 hours to edit one video. Then, for the starting pay, they will be paid ¥6,000 ~ ¥9,000 per video. They can get pay raises once they become proficient with our system. The pay is much better than working at a fast food restaurant or convenience store. You never have to use time riding a train back and forth; you never have to leave home. Finish the job and upload it back to us. Simple.
The good candidate will need an newer model Apple PC and Wi-Fi at home.
We are Robot55.
Our Mission Statement is:
“We make wonderful videos productions; for a profit if we can, at a loss if we must. But no matter what, we make wonderful video productions.”
Our Motto is:
“Let’s have fun!”
At Robot55 we make video productions for businesses and services and products, but we also pride ourselves on making videos for art and music. Our starting price is ¥70,000 and we are sure we can work out something that fits your budget. Oh, and we love making band videos too!

Hey! We’re back for this week’s Top 3 Countdown. Welcome!
First off, a hat tip to my friend in Osaka, Kevin Riley. Kevin was complaining about some of the songs a few weeks ago, saying they were, “Too mellow.” He wanted to, “Rock!” he says.
Damned hippies!
OK. So, this week due to popular demand (from Kevin) we’re going to rock with some more video productions from brand new artists that I think are way cool!
First up today is a band from France. It seems to be a guy and a girl. Their band name is The Limiñanas. That’s all I know about them and all I can find out about them from English language press. Kevin Riley speaks French, maybe he could do some research for us! Seriously, I can’t find really information about this band, really.
Anyway, I did find one thing… This is from a review in the Guardian:
“French pop in its purest form hasn’t really got its groove back since the 60s, but, wisely, it’s this very era that this Perpignan duo mine, marrying fuzzed-out psychedelia and agreeably rambling rock with the pop sweetness of that decade’s chansons. The ghost of Gainsbourg is felt most keenly in Votre côté yéyé m’emmerde, a softly spoken-word litany of icons and celebrities. Not hero worship, though, but an eye roll at the cute-ification of the past; its title translates to something like “your yé-yé view annoys me”, or, more literally, “enshittens me”. It is, in other words, a perfectly Gallic “bof” of a pop song.
Uh? What did he just say? Yeah. See? I can’t find out anything about this band. So check the video and you’ll know about as much as I do!
#3) The Limiñanas – Je Suis Une Go-Go Girl (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jk9EdnErhMk)
Next up is a two girl group from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma that formed in 2009. And their name is Sonic Youth. Er, no! That’s not their name. But if you like Sonic Youth, you are going to dig this! The band consists of Kelli Mayo and Peyton Bighorse, who both can play several instruments. They make songs alternating instruments, in a childlike yet heavy and mature style with very and poetic lyrics and melodic arrangements. Is the rudimentary musicianship part of the act? I can’t tell because some of it really rocks! They play a bunch of different styles from riot grrrl to, get this: piano-based indie punk/pop.
#2) Skating Polly – Alabama Movies (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDA-lzxcFyQ)
OK. Here we are at #1. Now this is HOT! I love this! This trio is from Texas and they are called “Purple!” (OK, Kevin Riley, you will dig this BIG TIME TOO!) In thes video they are playing at a party and I cen definitely imagine rocking out to this band! MY GOD! They have a hot blonde drummer and she is the singer too! When was the last time you saw that happen? Never, right? Her name is Hannah Brewer and she also writes the lyrics. And she growls when she sings! Hot! Hot! Hot! Click this video and watch right now! You can thank me later!
#1) Purple “Wallflower” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfx7kSYZvNo)
Well that’s all the videos for this week.
If you want to be in a music video, and you are in Tokyo, we are shooting a video for a hot new girl’s band on Friday, April 3 in Shimokitazawa. Here’s information on that: Want to Be in a Star in a Rock Video? You Can! The New Su凸ko D凹koi Video! On Friday, April 3rd, 2015 in Shimokitazawa (about 15 minutes from Shibuya), the gang from Robot55 will do the video production and shoot the promo video for the hot new rock band sensation in Japan: Su Ko D Koi! (Here is their Facebook page. If you can, please come and “Like” it: http://on.fb.me/19e1HCn)
We’re going to make the promotional video for the song, “Busu!”
What’s “Busu”? “Busu,” means “ugly” and it’s a new song and smash sensation by Su Ko D Koi.
Su Ko D Koi write their name like this: Su凸ko D凹koi – すっとこどっこい!But, because I can’t read it, nor say it, I write it like “Su Ko D Koi.”
Anyway, like I said, on April 3rd, 2015 at Shimokitazawa you can get your chance to appear in their video. It could be history in the making!
The girl’s will hold a love concert that night at Shimokitazawa Mosaic (here’s a map: http://www.studio-museum.com/mosaic/access/index.html). Pre-sales tickets are ¥2000 + ¥500 drink and Same Day tickets sell for ¥2500 +500 drink at the door.
That’s cool and if you want to be in their video, you can! We aired “Busu” at the radio show and the fan reaction was massive. Twitter went crazy! These girls are going to be big and you can be in their video! The other good thing is before these girl’s get really famous, not only can you can be in their video – the venue is tiny! It only holds 180 people!
So this is your big chance! Come and grab stardom! Come and be in the video!

Hey welcome back for some more great animations.I hope you folks enjoy this series of animations. As for me, I find that watching these things inspires me and gives me ideas for when I make my own video productions for Robot55. It is amazing that, in many cases, so many wonderful videos remain of productions that were made on shoe string budgets.
I love that sort of thinking. It is the ultimate in creativity. I hope that some of these videos give you ideas for your creative productions whether those are video productions, art, writing a book, or even making a cake! Whatever we do, let’s have fun!
The first animation up today is one of the earliest animators. His name is Willis O’Brien. Most of you might recognize his work as he was the guy who made the giant gorilla in the classic 1933 film, “King Kong.” I remember watching that film in cinema class at university and just being simply amazed that they could have this animation so many years ago…. (I was studying animation too at the time!)
Willis Harold O’Brien was born in Oakland, California in 1886. He is a pioneer in motion picture special effects and stop-motion animations. He is well known and his reputation was (and still is) that he, “was responsible for some of the best-known images in cinema history.” O’Brien is best remembered for his work on The Lost World (1925), King Kong (1933) and Mighty Joe Young (1949). He won the 1950 Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. He wrote the story for King Kong vs. Frankenstein which was changed and was developed into Ishirō Honda’s King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962).
Here is Willis H. O’Brien from 1915 – “The dinosaur and the missing link”

Next up is some stop animation work that, when I was a kid, I didn’t like at all. For some reason, these images disturb me. I can’t put my finger on it… But I guess they made me fear that my toys were alive while I was sleeping. You might recognize some of these images and this style too. This is work by George Pal.
George Pal was born in 1908 in Hungary and moved to the USA in 1940. He was an animator and film producer, mostly doing science fiction (maybe that’s where the scary part came in for me as a kid). He was nominated for Academy Awards in the category Best Short Cartoons for seven years in a row between 1942 – 1948! Wow! Pal is the the second most nominated Hungarian exile after Miklós Rózsa.
George Pal has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1722 Vine St.
Rocky Horror Picture Show fans will be interested in the trivia that, in the opening theme to that show, of both the stage musical, “Science Fiction/Double Feature,” George Pal is among the many references to classic science fiction and horror films in the opening theme.
Here’s George Pal with “Philips Broadcast” from 1938:
(If link about doesn’t play, copy and past this link into your browser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQmiqymo7Og).
OK. I said the last animation scared me as a kid. Next up is a very bizarre and twisted animation that is sure to cause the kids have nightmares. I cannot find any information about this Japanese animator nor this animation. But I think it speaks for itself.

Well that’s it for this week. Hope you enjoyed this short trip into the past and the minds of some very “out of the box” creators. See you next week, same place and same time!

As we announced last week, the new “Ninja Slayer” show is starting on Niconico on April 16th, 2015 at 11:00 pm. All of us at Robot55 – and Universal Vision – are more than proud to announce (brag) that we are working with the fine folks at Ninja Slayer, Road and Sky Company, King Records and Kadokawa as a team and bringing that exciting new animation to the world! Read about that here: Ninja Slayer Animation Begins April 16th at 11pm on Niconico (http://robot55.jp/blog/ninja-slayer-animation-begins-april-16th-at-11-pm-on-niconico/)
We are also making a special program just for the fans of Ninja Slayer and that show premieres on that new “Ninja Slayer” show starting on Niconico on April 16th, 2015 at 11:00 pm; it’s a special program in a program. I still can’t tell you all too many details on the show, but I can share some tidbits. Today, we had some video production for that show and several beautiful Japanese girls came to the studio and dropped our jaws with their Ninja antics as well as their swim suit photo session!
That’s right! You read it here first: Beautiful Japanese Ninja Girls and their swimsuit pin up scenes…. and you can see it all on Niconico on April 16th, 2015 at 11:00 pm
I’m expecting that it will be a smash hit. What more could a guy want to watch?

Oh, and all the girls who will appear on our show, Matsuo Yuki (松尾由紀) , Minami Rin (みなみ鈴 ), Rico (りこ)and Mina Shirakawa (白川未奈) appear courtesy of Presence LLC (URL: http://www.pre13-office.com/)
There’s some more very exciting news coming out about the involvement of Robot55 (and the sister company, Universal Vision Ltd. – http://universal-vision.jp/) with the video production about this smash hit adventure.
Get all the inside information here! Stay tuned!
