First up is a band from Los Angeles! Their name is “Kill My Coquette.” Kill My Coquette is the brainchild of Natalie Denise Sperl who made her way to Hollywood, clawing her way to starring roles in cult horror flicks, studio films, and hit TV shows. This is her band!

Next up is The Black Delta Movement. The Black Delta Movement is a heavy garage rock & roll outfit from Kingston Upon Hull, England.

We’re back for the Top 3 once again and I have a hot lineup for you today!

First up, check out a brand new band from London named “Yak.” Yak are on Rough Trade so they have an awesome pedigree. Here’s what the label says: “Yak return with a limited three track 7″ EP on Fat Possum. The singles shows all sides of the already much loved London trio Yak. ‘Smile’ is a slow and dirty seductive piece of garage rock stomp that builds and builds a la the Cramps and The Birthday Party whilst ‘Plastic People’ is a more uptempo and joyous pop number with Pete Murphy esque vocals on top of a pulsating rhythm section and explosive, ever-shifting and ever-escalating guitars. It’s effortless and uplifting.”

Time once again for this week’s Top 3 New Artist Videos for the week of June 27, 2015. Welcome!

Now, onto the countdown… At #3 is a band that gets lots of airplay on my FM radio show, “What the Funday” on InterFM every Sunday morning from 8 am ~ 11am. Their name is Kids On A Crime Spree and they are a rock trio from Oakland, California.

Next up is a new artist that I just discovered and I think she’s going to be big. Zella Day! Her real name is Zella Day Kerr and she is an American singer-songwriter from Pinetop, Arizona. Her first single was a cover of the White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” and it has over 100,000 views on Youtube. Check it here.

At #1 this week is Drenge. Drenge are an English two-piece alternative rock band, based in Castleton, Derbyshire, based in Sheffield. The band is made up of Eoin Loveless, on guitar and vocals, and his younger brother Rory, on drums. They take their name from the Danish word for “boys”, although it is pronounced differently. Oh, and they are appearing at Fuji Rock this year!

And last but not least are one of Tokyo’s favorite bands, the Watanabe’s. I was thinking about putting a Belle & Sebastian song in here, but then I changed my mind. Everyone already knows Belle & Sebastian and if you like them, you’ll definitely like the Watanabe’s. This video also has some great shots around Tokyo. Cool!

Welcome back and time once again for this week’s Top 3 video countdown. The best and most bizarre new Top 3 Indies artist’s videos and bizarre and cool stuff I could find (and trust me, I spend a lot of time looking for this stuff!)

First up today is a band named Milk Spot. The only thing I can tell you about these folks is they are from Fort Lauderdale, Florida; there are 4 of them and they have a Facebook page… Oh, and they are friends with Killmama who have graced our Top 3 chart before!

Time once again for this week’s Top 3 New Artist Videos for the week of June 19, 2015. One day late and far more than several hundred dollars short, it’s time for this week’s Top 3 Videos. The Top 3 Indies Artist’s videos for the week of June 16, 2015.

And once again, it’s Ladies Nite! The ladies will do the rockin’. Everyone gets in free!

First up are the two sisters who we introduced to you several weeks ago. As the story goes, when the older sister was 9, she pushed a drum kit into her then 6-year-old sister’s bedroom and proclaimed, “We’re starting a punk band.” Ten years later, today, they are known as Dog Party. They’ve been getting heavy airplay on my radio show: What the Funday on InterFM. (Please come “Like” or FB page! Please!)

They released their debut album Out of View on 28 January 2013, which went in at number 8 in the UK Indie Breakers Chart, and number 2 in the UK Record Store Chart.

We’re back for the weekend version of the Top 3 Indies Videos for May 11, 2015. I want to say thanks to all the artists who have been submitting videos to me for review. Much appreciation. And for you readers, thanks too! I hope you dig finding new artists and bands as much as I do!

First up today at #3 are a band from Auckland, New Zealand who took off to Jolly Old London England the first chance they got. They are an Alternative rock trio, Adam, Dave and Joel. Their name is the Popstrangers and they are at #3.

At #2 are those two sisters that seem to be catching fire. Their names are Gwendolyn and Lucy and they are better known as the punk band, Dog Party. This is their newest single!

Finally, at this week’s #1 is a punk band from Los Angeles that has been a favorite of mine for quite a while. They beeen on my countdowns before, but this is their first time on the Top 3 Videos. Wikipedia writes:

“FIDLAR is a skate punk/garage punk band from Los Angeles California… The band’s name is an acronym for ‘Fuck It Dog, Life’s a Risk’, a skate mantra gleaned from singer Zac Carper’s former roommates. Originally, FIDLAR went under the name ‘Fuck The Clock’, as referenced in their song ‘Cheap Beer’. Three years after recording their first songs they stepped on stage together with The Black Lips and went on tour with The Hives. In 2012, FIDLAR were named one of Stereogum’s ’40 Best New Bands of 2012′.”

I think you’ll dig this video. It’s got parodies of all sorts of famous videos and pop/rock stars. The Devo “Jocko Homo” parody at about 1:05 into the video floored me! I certainly DID NOT expect that!

And finally, as I always like to do, I’d like to introduce you to some of Japan’s unsung heroes. Today is a Rockabilly instrumental trio from Tokyo named Bobby’s Bar. This band rocks and performs at some of Tokyo’s coolest underground dives. I’ve seen them live several times and am always impressed by them.

Shit! It’s a Monday! I hate Mondays! The only good thing about Mondays is the Top 3 Video Countdown. Let’s get rockin’!

Oh my god! The first band up today is the New Piccadillys. This band is hot! The Piccadillys are “Shiny suits, twanging guitars, pounding drums & tight harmonies together with 60s sounds” I highly recommend checking out their Facebook page where you can find gems like this: “He is also remembered by many as Johnny MacRotten of the dangerously authentic ‘Scottish Sex Pistols’ and as front man for the more family friendly skiffle trio ‘Wray Gunn & The Rockets’.” You can’t make this shit up. Next up, at #1 is a band that is coming to the big Japanese Rock Festival; Summer Fuji, or is it Fuji Sonic? I forget. Why? Because all summer festivals have crap sound and I don’t go to them. Nevertheless, I was the first one to play our #1 act in Japan (aren’t I always the first?) so this band is cool, even though the summer festivals all suck (I hate standing in line to take a pee too!)

At #1 is Drenge. Drenge are an English two-piece alternative rock band, based in Castleton, Derbyshire, England. The band is made up of Eoin Loveless, on guitar and vocals, and his younger brother Rory, on drums.

Today’s Freebie! オマケ！It’s Girlpool! Wikipedia says, “Girlpool is a punk rock band from Los Angeles, California. Its members are Cleo Tucker (guitar, vocals) and Harmony Tividad (bass, vocals), who are 18 and 19 years old, respectively. The band does not have a drummer.”
