It’s time once again for the Top 3 (4) Indies Artist Video Countdown for Sept. 15, 2018!

Starting us off today is a hot new artist named “Miss World” . This is awesome! I LOVE THIS!!!!! Miss World was turned onto us by music critic and cool guy, Stossy Reid! Miss World seems to be from London, England and her second album is about to drop on Sept. 28, 2018. What little information I could find on this hot recording says: “Keeping Up With Miss World” is a raw, 13 track power-pop, garage-party movie scene that plays out like a thumb-numbing Instagram scroll fest. A teen-dream magazine collage, a multi-colored sonic mood board featuring torn up images of Ariel Pink, Kim Gordon, Clueless OOTDs, Madonna and Kim Kardashian smeared with gluestick goo.”

Expect Miss World to be on my FM radio show constantly for the next several months (“The Mike Rogers Show” (Every Sunday morning from 5 am ~ 7 am on InterFM 897 in Tokyo, Radio Neo 79.5 in Nagoya, and nationwide simulcast on!)

#4) MISS WORLD – Put Me In A Movie:

At #3 is the Los Angeles duet that is getting rave reviews and TONS of airplay in Japan and their umpteenth time on the countdown! It’s Daisy House from Los Angeles, California. Today’s track is their latest music video. Guitarist Doug explains: “Persephone is more than a twisted Southern Gothic fairy tale. It has its roots in the Threepenny Opera (perfect for the current amerikan Weimar Republic /Globalist dystopia), also in Ray Davies’ wry observations and Lee Hazlewood’s lysergic cowboy laments. In the myth, Persephone was dragged to hell by Hades, who fancied her, but his doing so created Winter in the world above. She was the original ‘kept woman’ and with that picture below as the initial inspiration, I imagined the corruption that would gradually creep in to her spirit in his company. amerika, now captured by its own demons has grown ever more dully corrupt in all the years I’ve been alive…to the point where I wonder if the words to this song even register as cautionary tale: “Don’t cut deals with the Devil”

Here’s their Bandcamp:

#3) Daisy House – Persephone 2018:

At #2 this week is a band that is all the rave, it seems, The Velvet Starlings! I think they’re from Los Angeles and I think the lead vocalist is, are you sitting down? 15-years-old! What???? Their FB bio says: “Velvet Starlings blends indie blues-based rock with British Invasion era influences and focuses on tight harmonies and catchy arrangements.”

Here’s their Facebook page:

#2) Velvet Starlings – If Life Ain’t Getting You High:

At #1 this week is Rochelle Vincente Von K and her newest directed by world famous Hollywood director, Stephen David Brooks (of Flytrap fame). This is their second video work together as their previous, “Deal Me In,” was a massive hit. “Deal Me In” made the Official Grammy Final Selection for Song Of The Year, Best Pop Performance, Record Of The Year & Music Video Of The Year. Wow! Rochelle used to sing backup for some very awesome artists such as Dubstar and Ian Broudie (of Lightning Seeds fame). Stephen makes kick-ass videos and movies!

#1) Rochelle Vincente Von K:

SPOTLIGHT ARTIST!  This week’s Spotlight Artist is my other new favorite thing: The band is called Sesame and they are from Tokyo Japan! (Thanks Stossy Reid!) But wait! Are they called “Sesame” or are they actually, “The Rouges“? Who the f*ck cares? This is awesome! I LOVE this!

Go Like their Facebook: But you can’t. They don’t have a Facebook. They do Twitter, though:

Of course, if you want to hear more of this stuff, check out InterFM’s, “The Mike Rogers Show” (Every Sunday morning from 5 am ~ 7 am on InterFM 897 in Tokyo, Radio Neo 79.5 in Nagoya, and nationwide simulcast on! Check it out for tons of cool new music every week!)
